Schneider Electric Series A9 Residual Current Circuit Breaker with Overload Protection, 16A Current, 30mA Trip Sensitivity - A9DC3616

This residual current circuit-breaker with overload protection provides combined earth-leakage detection and overcurrent interruption for distribution circuits in industrial and commercial electrical installations. It is designed for DIN-rail mounting and suits AC networks, delivering instantaneous Type A residual-current sensitivity alongside thermal-magnetic overcurrent tripping for routine protection tasks.

Features & Benefits

• 30mA sensitivity delivers personnel protection against leakage currents
• 16A rated current supports branch-circuit distribution loads
• 6kA breaking capacity limits fault energy during short-circuits
• Thermal-magnetic trip offers both overload and short-circuit response
• Voltage-independent residual trip ensures consistent operation
• Tunnel terminals accept 1 to 16mm² conductors for secure connections

Applications

• Suitable for distribution boards in machinery control panels
• Ideal for protecting lighting and socket circuits in workshops
• used with single-phase supply circuits requiring earth-leakage detection
• Can be used for retrofit DIN-rail installations in plant rooms

What network voltages and frequencies does it operate on?

It is intended for 230VAC operation at 50/60Hz on standard single-phase networks.

How does the device indicate contact status?

A local indicator shows ON/OFF contact position for Rapid Visual checks.

Which Terminal arrangements accommodate conductor routing?

Tunnel-type terminals are provided TOP or bottom and accept rigid and flexible conductors with 14mm stripping length.

What environmental conditions can it withstand in service?

It functions between -25 to 60°C, up to 2000m altitude, and high humidity up to 95% at 55°C.

How is the unit mounted and secured within an enclosure?

It clips onto a DIN rail and has padlock/sealable locking options for local access control.
