RS PRO Nylon Dome Nuts

RS PRO brings you a fantastic range of nylon dome nuts, ideal for applications where it is desired to hide or cover the end of a projecting screw thread. The dome shape can eliminate the possibility of snagging edges, which is ideal for capping off flexible threaded rods. The dome has a hexagon flange which is ideal for both hand and tool tightening for the application of appropriate torque. This flange also may eliminate the need for a washer to distribute the pressure of the nut.
The dome nut is made of lightweight nylon 66 which is corrosion, impact and weather-resistant making it the perfect component for indoor and outdoor environments as well as high voltage applications.
There are a variety of metric sizes available

232-6935 is an M3 nylon dome nut
232-6955 is an M4 nylon dome nut
232-6975 is an M5 nylon dome nut
232-6990 is an M6 nylon dome nut
232-7002 is an M8 nylon dome nut

Features and Benefits

Applications

Dome nuts, sometimes called acorn nuts or cap nuts, are a versatile fastener used for aesthetic and practical reasons wherever a bare screw thread is a concern. Unlike using standard nut fixings, a dome nut completely covers the end of a screw. As such, it can be used in lieu of, or on top of, fastening nuts. These domed nuts come in a variety of materials including nylon, plastic and stainless steel can be used to cap threaded bars or make sure a surface is snag-free.
