What factors should you consider when selecting pneumatic silencers?

The cleanliness of the air is an important factor to consider before fitting a silencer in your system. In contaminated air lines, silencers can affect the productivity of operation. Also note that you may need to compensate for the back pressure created by the silencer. It's best to choose a silencer with higher air-flow capacity.
