Festo Pneumatic Piston Rod Cylinder, Wrought Aluminium Alloy Barrel, 0.6 to 12 Bar Operating Pressure - DSBC-32-30-PPVA-N3

Get your machine moving in the right direction with this pneumatic piston rod cylinder from Festo. It's double-acting, so compressed air enters at each end to drive the piston and efficiently produce linear motion in both directions. As the piston rod is made from high alloy steel, it stands up to hard impacts and corrosion. To close the deal, robust TPE-U seals keep the cylinder closed, preventing air from leaking out and dirt from getting in. You can assemble it in any position for a flexible setup.

Features & Benefits

• Ambient operating temperature range of -20°C to +80°C for use in harsh industrial environments
• Adjustable air cushioning helps reduce impact from the piston rod
• Wrought aluminium alloy barrel is corrosion-resistant to ensure durability

Applications

• Beverage production
• Oil and gas industry
• Medical technology

How do I track the position of a piston rod?

You can track the position of a piston rod using a proximity sensor. This is easy to fit, as the cylinder barrel comes with pre-cut slots designed specifically for flush mounting one. This prevents the rod from hitting the sensor as it moves. Because the piston rod is magnetic, the sensor can detect its position without making physical contact, reducing the risk of wear.
