SMC AFF Series Air Filter, 1 μm Filtration size, 2200L/min Maximum Flow Rate - AFF50-F06D-D

This Air filter is a compressed Air line filter designed for preparation and separation of water droplets and solid particulates in industrial pneumatic systems. It is intended for use where controlled Air purity and continuous operation are required, offering automatic drainage and a clogging switch for maintenance monitoring. The unit operates across typical workshop temperatures and connects via a G-thread 3/4 in port for integration into high-flow assemblies.

Features & Benefits

• 1μm nominal filtration rating removes fine particulates and water droplets
• 2200 L/min maximum flow suits high-flow pneumatic systems
• 1 MPa maximum operating pressure supports medium-pressure networks
• Automatic drain reduces manual condensate removal labour
• Clogging switch provides switch output for element condition signalling
• Rated for -5°C to 60°C operation for varied ambient conditions

Applications

• Suitable for preparation of compressed Air feeding pneumatic actuators and valves
• Used with assembly-line equipment requiring low particulate levels
• Ideal for workshop Air mains delivering high volumetric flow
• Suitable for integration ahead of lubricators or regulators in control panels
• Used for protecting sensitive electro-mechanical devices from water ingress

What is the minimum operating pressure for proper function?

The specified minimum operating pressure is 0.05 MPa

auto drain activation requires at least 0.1 MPa for some configurations.

How is clogging status communicated to a control system?

A built-in clogging switch provides a reed-type switch output which can be wired to monitoring devices for element replacement indication.

What replacement parts are available for the element and bowl seal?

Dedicated replacement elements and bowl Seals are specified per size

consult the part listings for the correct element code for this size.

What materials are used for the bowl and guard options?

Bowl choices include polycarbonate or stainless steel and a transparent polycarbonate guard is provided for Visual inspection.

How does the unit handle condensate discharge under low flow?

If residual condensate remains when pressure is absent, manual release is recommended for N.C. auto drain variants to avoid accumulation.
