The BPW 21, from OSRAM Opto Semiconductors, is a photodiode within a TO-39 metal can package. This through-hole metal package is hermetically sealed. The BPW 21 has been designed for applications from 350 to 820 nm, similar to the human eye (VLambda). Suitable applications for the BPW 21 include; exposure meters and colour analysis.
