This DesignSpark kit includes the pi-top laptop kit and the Raspberry Pi 3 Model B. The pi-top laptop requires a Raspberry Pi board, but it doesn't come with it as standard, so we have put this kit together for you.

What is a pi-top?
The pi-top is essentially a "build your own laptop" kit. It is a modular laptop computer which runs from a Raspberry Pi computer board, enabling you to build your own custom laptop and bring your ideas to life. Pi-top enables you to experiment with electronics and coding, and it is perfect for STEAM applications.
Within the laptop there is a magnetic rail which enables you to attach a range of add-ons, such as speakers and prototyping boards.
The pi-top laptop (UK plug) can be purchased separately - (146-9335) This particular kit comes with the green laptop, however, we also sell grey pi-tops and other plug versions.

The Raspberry 3 Model B is a single board computer with tonnes of possible applications. It can be used as the brains of the pi-top laptop and comes packed with connectivity such as WLAN, Bluetooth and BLE. The Raspberry Pi 3B features a 1.4 GHz quad-core, Arm-A53 cortex processor.
