Schmersal Light Curtain, 32 Beams, 300 to 7000mm Scanning Distance - SLC440COM Series - SLC440COM-E-0330-14

Protect personnel from equipment hazards using this light curtain sender from Schmersal. It works with a receiver to detect objects that may interfere with machine functions, helping to shut down your equipment to prevent injuries and machine damage. The wide scanning distance range of 300 to 7000mm means it can sense a wide variety of objects for versatility. The light curtain has a long cable length of 100m for a flexible connection in large work areas.

Features & Benefits

• Wide operating temperature range of -10°C to +50°C for use in demanding environments
• Fast response time of 10ms for a quick reaction to hazards
• LED indicator for simple monitoring of operating status

Applications

• Machine tools
• Elevators and escalators
• Packaging plants

How does a light curtain work?

A light curtain's transmitter sends pulses of infrared light to the receiver in a defined sequence. If an opaque object (such as a human body) blocks the pulses and interrupts the sequence, the light curtain sends a signal to the machine to shut it down.
