Siemens SITRANS LR140 Series Level Sensor, -40°C Minimum Operating Temperature - 7ML5337-1AB07-4AF0

This radar level sensor provides non-contact continuous level measurement for liquids and solids using an 80GHz frequency radar system. Designed for industrial use, it operates in ambient conditions down to -40°C and connects to plant control via a 4 to 20 mA analogue output. Wireless setup and diagnostics are available through an integrated Bluetooth Interface and a mobile adjustment app, enabling Rapid commissioning and echo-profile inspection.

Features & Benefits

• 4 to 20 mA output delivers standardised signal integration with controllers
• -40°C operating capability supports low-temperature installations
• 80GHz radar frequency ensures narrow 8° beam precision
• 250ms cycle time enables responsive level updates
• Less than or equal to 5mm digital stability limits measurement drift with liquids
• IP66/IP67 protection allows outdoor process mounting

**Applications**

• Suitable for continuous liquid level monitoring in storage tanks
• Ideal for flow measurement in flumes and weirs using height-to-flow curves
• Used with vessels where foam or agitation is present due to false-echo suppression
• Can be used for solids inventory control where dielectric constant greater than or equal to 1.6
• Suitable for environmental monitoring where non-hazardous area equipment is required

How is the device powered and what are voltage requirements?

It accepts a DC supply with operational ranges for 4mA and 20mA output

typical nominal operation is within 9 to 35 V DC depending on loop current.

How does it handle close-range interferences and build-up?

An automatic false-echo suppression routine records and excludes persistent near-field reflections

a periodic re-run is recommended when build-up occurs.

What diagnostics are available via the wireless interface?

Echo-profile viewing, status messages according to NE107 categories, and parameter backup/restore are accessible through the mobile app.

What environmental and mechanical protections are provided?

The enclosure meets IP66/IP67 and IK07 ratings, resists vibration/impact per relevant IEC classes, and includes a venting element for pressure equalisation.
