Endress+Hauser FTL31 Series Level Switch, 70°C Maximum Operating Temperature, 40 Bar Maximum Pressure - FTL31-AA4M2AAW5J

This vibration level switch monitors presence or absence of bulk solids and liquids by sensing mechanical oscillation changes and is intended for industrial tank and vessel monitoring. Constructed for corrosive environments, it uses robust materials and is suited to threaded installations where continuous remote cabling is required.

Features and Benefits:

• 316L stainless steel housing provides corrosion resistance and longevity
• Operates between -40°C and 70°C for wide thermal ranges
• Withstands service pressures up to 40 bar for pressurised vessels
• Draws only 15 mA for low-current signalling and minimal power consumption
• Supplied with 1000m cable for long-distance connection to control systems
• Threaded mount enables straightforward installation in standard ports

Applications

• Suitable for tank monitoring in chemical processing plants
• Ideal for level detection in pump sump protection systems
• Used with storage silos for bulk-solid presence sensing
• Can be used for interface or high/low level alarms in pressurised vessels
• Appropriate for remote installations requiring long cable runs

How is the unit secured into process equipment?

It fits into a threaded port and is tightened to the vessel connection, offering a compact mounting solution compatible with standard threaded fittings.

What electrical constraints should I consider when integrating it?

The device draws a maximum of 15 mA, so supply and input circuits should accommodate low-current sensing and any upstream input circuitry must support that level.

Can it operate in both very cold and hot conditions?

Yes

the sensor maintains functionality across a temperature span from -40°C to 70°C, permitting service in frozen lines and elevated-temperature processes.

Is it suitable for hazardous-area rated installations?

It does not carry hazardous-area certification and must not be used where such certification is required.
