Fluke Fibre Tester, 1625nm Wavelength, 1h Battery Life - FIBERLERT-125

This Fibre tester is a handheld detector for Rapid verification of optical signal presence, polarity and Basic connectivity in single‑mode and multimode networks. It senses near‑infrared light in ports and patchcord end faces without contacting the ferrule, providing an immediate Visual and audible indication of Active links across telecom and industrial cabling environments.

Features & Benefits

• Detects 850 nm–1625 nm wavelengths to identify Active links quickly
• Measures optical power from −30 dBm to 3 dBm for Basic power checks
• Non‑contact ceramic ferrule to avoid endface contamination or damage
• LightBeat™ LED and audible tone to indicate operation and battery status
• Automatic shut‑off after five minutes to conserve battery life
• Supplied with AAA alkaline cells for immediate field use

Applications

• Suitable for verifying FTTH drop and distribution ports
• Ideal for polarity checks on LC patchcords in data centres
• Used for commissioning of single‑ and multimode campus links
• Can be used for fault localisation on multimode patch panels
• Used with UPC and APC connectors during site handovers

How is battery life managed for intermittent field inspections?

The unit includes a timer that powers the detector down after five minutes of inactivity and uses two AAA alkaline cells to extend operational readiness.

Which connector interfaces can be tested directly without adapters?

The detector’s non‑contact ferrule is compatible with 1.25mm LC receptacles and works with both UPC and APC terminations.

What environmental conditions will it tolerate during on‑site use?

It operates between −10 °C and 50 °C and supports non‑condensing humidity up to 95% at 10 °C–35 °C with reduced tolerance at higher temperatures.

Can it indicate power presence without Visual access to the Fibre end?

Yes

a steady red LED combined with an audible beep (when enabled) signals detected near‑infrared emissions through the non‑contact interface.
