HARTING D-Sub Series D-Sub Connector, 9 Contacts, Steel Housing - 09670094715

This D-Sub connector is a panel-mount Interface designed to join cable-to-cable and PCB-to-cable connections in demanding environments. It features a straight orientation and solder cup termination to accommodate wire attachment by hand or machine. The housing is steel with a tin finish and the insert is glass-fibre-filled thermoplastic, providing mechanical support for turned contacts. Rated for up to 1000V test voltage, it suits installations where a Compact multiway connector is required.

Features and Benefits:

• 7.5A rated current enables reliable signal and low-power distribution
• Gold-plated contacts reduce contact resistance for consistent conductivity
• -55 to 125°C temperature range permits high-temperature operation
• 250 mating cycle durability reduces connector replacement frequency
• Fixing flange with Ø3.1mm hole secures panel-mount installations

Applications

• Suitable for industrial control cabinet interconnections
• Used with measurement equipment requiring multiway signal links
• Ideal for railway vehicle interior electronic interfaces
• Can be used for cable assemblies in harsh temperature ranges

What contact material is used and why does it matter?

Contacts are MADE from a copper alloy which provides good conductivity and mechanical strength for repeated mating.

How are wires terminated to the connector?

Wires are terminated using solder cup termination designed for manual or reflow soldering processes.

What insulation and creepage performance can be expected?

Insulation resistance exceeds 10^10 Ω and both clearance and creepage distances are at least 1mm.

What mechanical retention and handling forces apply during mating?

Insertion force is specified as ≤30N and a withdrawal force range includes ≥3.3N up to ≤20N to ensure stable connections.

Are there any material flammability or hazardous substance notes?

The insert meets UL94V-0 flammability classification and the product lists lead as an identified SVHC.

Note

For Shell housings see typically 740-7269 and range.
