Current Sense Amplifiers Analogue Output, Texas Instruments

Current and power measurement for real-time system protection, feedback control and high-accuracy system monitoring.

The Texas Instruments INA270 andINA271 family of voltage-output, current-sense amplifiers can sense drops across shunt resistors at common-mode voltages from –16 V to +80 V, independent of the supply voltage. The INA270 and INA271pinouts readily enable filtering.

Wide Common-Mode Range: 16 V to +80 V
CMRR: 120 dB
Accuracy:
±0.5-mV Offset (typ)
±0.2% Gain Error (typ)
2.5 μV/°C Offset Drift (typ)
50 ppm/°C Gain Drift (max)
Bandwidth: Up to 130 kHz
Two Gain Options Available:
14 V/V (INA270)
20 V/V (INA271)
Quiescent Current: 700 μA (typ)
Power Supply: +2.7 V to +18 V
Provision for Filtering

Current Sensing Amplifiers have a voltage output that is proportional to the volt drop across a very low value resistor, usually in a high-current power rail. Hence they measure the current flowing in that power rail.
