The RS Pro PVC insulated and sheathed flat cable featuring a pre-identified Green/Yellow circuit protective conductor, designed to simplify the work of electricians by eliminating the need for sleeving. This innovative cable fits comfortably within standard cable clips, while still meeting the mechanical and electrical requirements of BS6004, the equivalent of the 6242Y cable standard. It is intended for use in light industrial and domestic wiring, offering reliable performance in dry or damp environments for fixed installations. It supports the same installation methods as the 6242Y twin and earth cable, including conduit, cable trunking, cable ducting, cable tray, clipped direct, embedded, or in free air, though it is not suitable for underground use. It has been extensively tested to ensure it meets or surpasses the functional and safety requirements of equivalent BS, EN, or IEC standards as referenced in BS7671.
