It's made of a helically wound galvanised steel strip that combines flexibility with impressive compression strength of 2500N/50mm and tensile strength of 1600N. This keeps it pliant enough for running leads around corners and gives it much-needed crush resistance so it will hold its own when fed into solid obstacles such as walls. A hardwearing PVC cover also makes the conduit resistant to oil and UV, so it's handy for shielding your wires from damage, whether used outdoors or in specialised applications in indoor settings.
