RS PRO Black Male RP-SMA to Female U.FL RF Coaxial Cable, 50 Ω

This RP-SMA to U.FL cable from RS PRO is designed for making a breakout connection from a board inside a piece of radio frequency (RF) equipment to a more sturdy connector on the exterior of the case. The U.FL connector is small and fragile, making it suitable for internal connections to a circuit board, but not strong enough to resist the stresses of an external connector. This cable terminates with a panel-mounting SubMiniature version A (SMA) connector that can be securely mounted through a hole in the outer case, allowing an external antenna to be connected without risk to the U.FL connector.

SMA connectors support signals with a frequency up to 3 GHz, making this suitable for 2.4 GHz wireless LAN connections, Bluetooth or other radiocommunication systems in that frequency band. It would typically be used in a larger device to allow an external antenna to be fitted.
