Fluke Clamp Meter, 0.2% AC Current Accuracy, 30V Maximum DC Voltage Measurement - Fluke 773

This clamp meter is a handheld instrument designed for measuring and sourcing milliamp process signals and DC voltages in industrial control and maintenance environments. It enables non-intrusive measurement of 4–20 mA loops, offers voltage sourcing for testing input devices, and includes a non-contact voltage detector for Rapid live-voltage checks. The unit runs from AA batteries and is intended for field use by automation, electronics, electrical and mechanical professionals.

Features & Benefits

• ±0.2% accuracy for mA measurements for precise loop diagnostics
• 0–30V DC measurement range with 10 mV resolution for voltage validation
• Simultaneous mA in/out capability to source and monitor without breaking the loop
• Scaled mA output to log loop signals with external recording instruments
• Compact 4.5mm jaw opening for access to small conductors
• 12 h battery life using AA cells for extended field operations

Applications

• Suitable for commissioning 4–20 mA transmitters and sensors
• Ideal for troubleshooting control system I/O and I/P devices
• Used with logging multimeters to Record process signals without interruption
• Can be used for in-circuit mA sourcing during valve and actuator testing
• Used for quick live-voltage checks on 24V power supplies in HVAC systems

How does it handle sourcing mA into loads?

It can source up to 24.00 mA with a maximum drive into 1,000 Ω, permitting direct injection into common loop impedances for functional testing.

What voltage output options are available for input device testing?

The unit provides a 0–10.00V DC output with up to 2 mA drive current, suitable for devices that accept 0–10V or 1–5V signals.

What environmental conditions can it operate within?

It functions between −10 °C and 50 °C, with humidity limits of less than 90% below 30 °C and less than 75% between 30 °C and 55 °C.

Are there protections or standards relevant to electromagnetic environments?

It meets applicable EMC requirements in EN 61326-1 and adds 1 mA to jaw current specs for EMC fields of 1–3 V/m.
