The TE Connectivity Keying pins are solid plastic rods used to help prevent mis-mating of like connectors in close proximity. Applicable DEUTSCH product lines include HD10, HD30, HDP20, DT, and DTM series. Keying pins are inserted into the retention fingers of an empty socket cavity. Once installed, the keying pin blocks a mating contact pin from being inserted. The contact pin will be blocked before the coupling device mates the connectors, helping to prevent the mis-mating of like connectors. Proper usage requires that the corresponding mating pin be omitted and a sealing plug inserted in the rear cavity of the mating connector.
