ABAC MIL-DTL-38999 Series III Screen Trap Backshells

AB Connectors MIL-DTL-38999 series III screen trap backshells are designed with simplicity of assembly in mind, the unique method of securing the shielding or braid is achieved by securing it between a male and female thread at the cable entry point of the backshell which provides the bonding joint, no special additional tools are required (capable of terminating single, double or optimised screening), this in turn can be rubber booted for additional protection. These Mil-DTL-38999 backshells are available in small or larger cable entry types and feature mechanical strain relief and environmental sealing with a grounded backshell, manufactured from aluminium and cadmium plated. These backshells are ideally suited for use in defence and aerospace applications such as surveillance systems, thermal imaging, fixed wing, landing and missile systems etc. when used in conjunction with the appropriate AB Connectors MIL-DTL-38999 Series III circular connector.

These ABAC MIL-DTL-38999 Series III connectors were developed to meet the stringent requirements of the Military, Industrial and Aerospace Industries. The Robust design of these versatile 38999 connectors is ideal for use where shock and EMI/RFI protection is required, also these MIL-DTL-38999 connectors have a quick mate threaded coupling system combined with a high performance anti-vibration mechanism. A unique feature of these connectors is a stub acme style thread on the coupling nut and receptacles to avoid the possibility of cross threading which also ease of blind mating. The EMI-RFI performance of these 38999 series III connectors is enhanced further by the built in grounding spring mechanism.
