LAPP Blue Cable Gland, M20, 13mm Maximum Cable Diameter - SKINTOP K-M Series - 54115420

The polyamide construction of this LAPP cable gland makes it ideal for use in demanding environments. Thanks to its permanent vibration protection, it can withstand prolonged use with heavy machinery. The unit offers a high degree of strain relief, which protects it against wear and tear and guarantees a long service life. Its screw-on design reduces installation time and, for added versatility, the gland is suitable for use with 7 to 13mm cable diameters.

Features & Benefits

• IP68 (ingress protection) rating means it can withstand dust, dirt, sand and submersion in up to 1.5m of water for up to 30 minutes
• Wide operating temperature range of -20°C to +80°C for use in demanding environments

Applications

• Marine and offshore industries
• Cable management in panels, junction boxes and equipment housing

Is a plastic or metal cable gland better?

This depends on the environment it'll be used in. Metal cable glands perform well in wet conditions, as they have good chemical and mechanical stability. Plastic cable glands are typically resistant to weak acids, grease and saltwater. They're versatile options for most applications.
