SICK Bar Code Reader, 365mm Maximum Scanning Distance, 1200 scan/s Maximum Scanning Rate - CLV620-0000 / 1040288

This bar code reader is a fixed-mount line scanner designed for industrial identification tasks where continuous, automated reading of 1D codes is required. It employs a visible red light source and a fixed-focus optical arrangement to scan barcodes on moving production lines or stationary conveyors. The unit is housed in an aluminium die-cast enclosure with a glass front screen and is intended for integration into automation and machine interfaces.

Features & Benefits

• Scanning rate up to 1200 scan/s for Rapid throughput
• Reading distance up to 365mm to cover mid-range fields
• Visible red laser 655nm for clear code illumination
• RS232, RS422, RS485 serial ports for versatile connection
• LCD and beeper provide immediate Visual and audible status
• IP65-rated housing for protection against dust and splashing

Applications

• Suitable for conveyor line code verification in manufacturing
• Ideal for scanning labels on assembly-line subcomponents
• Used with CANopen or SICK CAN sensor networks for automation
• Can be used for warehouse sorting where mid-range read is needed
• Suitable for integration into serial-hosted instrumentation panels

What code types and densities can it read?

It decodes standard 1D symbologies including Code39, Code128, GS1-128, UPC/GTIN and Interleaved2of5, handling print ratios from 2:1 to 3:1 with code resolution between 0.2mm and 1mm.

How is the device configured and monitored?

Configuration is performed using SOPAS ET software and status is indicated via six LEDs Plus an assignable buzzer

diagnostics can be routed over serial or CAN interfaces.

Which environmental limits define safe operation?

The operating range is 0°C to +40°C with non-condensing relative humidity up to 90% and ambient light tolerance up to 2,000lx on the code.

What mechanical and electrical connections are provided?

The scanner connects via a 15-pin D-Sub HD male cable (0.9m)

it accepts 10V DC–30V DC supply and consumes approximately 4.5W.

How many codes can it capture per scan or interval?

The standard decoder reads 1–20 codes per scan, with auto-discriminating capture of up to 50 codes per reading interval and up to 1,500 characters per interval.
