3M Adhesive-Backed/PSA Sanding Disc, 76.2mm Disc Diameter, 150 Grit size - 7100287831

This adhesive-backed/PSA sanding disc is a net-backed abrasive designed for general sanding, stock removal and surface preparation across multiple substrates. It combines a precision-shaped ceramic mineral blend with an open mesh backing to enable dust extraction when used with a compatible backing pad and vacuum system, and it attaches quickly via a hook-and-loop style Interface for Rapid disc changes on orbital sanders.

Features & Benefits

• Precision shaped ceramic grain delivers Faster cut rates and longevity
• Net backing permits effective dust extraction with vacuum systems
• Hook-and-loop attachment allows Rapid tool-side disc replacement
• Patterned coating reduces loading and improves finishing consistency
• Blend of aluminium oxide and ceramic supports diverse substrate work

Applications

• Suitable for scuffing and intermediate sanding of primer and paintwork
• Ideal for stock removal on composites and gelcoat
• Used for surface preparation of fillers, sealants and putties
• Can be used for finish sanding on whitewood and lacquers
• Suitable for metal deburring and smoothing in mechanical assembly

How does the disc handle dust management during use?

The net backing facilitates extraction through the disc when paired with a supporting tool and vacuum system, reducing dust in the work area and improving visibility.

Which abrasive composition is used and why is it beneficial?

A blend of aluminium oxide and 3M proprietary precision-shaped ceramic grain is employed to balance Durable cutting performance with consistent finish quality across varying materials.

What attachment method is required by the sanding pad?

The loops integrated into the net backing are designed to mate with a Hookit-style hook-and-loop pad for quick, non-aligned disc changes.

What storage conditions preserve performance?

Store in original packaging at 16°C to 26°C and 35 to 50% relative humidity on a first-in to first-out basis to maintain shelf life and abrasive behaviour.

Which industry tasks are supported by the disc’s construction?

Its pattern-coated resin on a net substrate supports reduced loading and stable finishing for automotive refinishing, electronics panel preparation and mechanical surface finishing.
