Introducing the range of PLA High-Speed 3D Printer Filaments from RS PRO, one of the most popular and easy-to-use 3D printing filament materials available on the market. PLA filament (polylactic acid) is made from starch, which is odourless, making it ideal for use in domestic or closed-off environments with little ventilation. This High-Speed filament has been specifically designed for High-Speed 3D Printers to support the fast-moving extruder. This 3D printer filament does this by offering better fluidity and supporting faster shaping that adapts to the rapid movement of the extruder, which in the process eliminates common issues like filament-jam and poor filament output that impact the overall quality of the 3D print. Suitable for use in a wide range of applications, but especially useful in domestic, education, or office environments, thanks to the easy-to-use nature of the PLA material.

What is PLA?

Polylactic Acid (PLA) is a biodegradable plastic made from renewable natural resources and one of the most popular materials for 3D printing. In addition to this, PLA filament can be printed at a low temperature and does not require a heated bed and is one of the most environmentally friendly filaments available.

PLA is a tough, easy to use high-grade PLA type of filament, ideal for 3D printing. Slightly modified, the filament retains the typical features of PLA but makes it tougher and less brittle and thanks to the low shrinkage factor, this material will not deform after cooling.

Note:

It is important to ensure that the filament is stored correctly to maintain its quality. Over prolonged periods of time, the plastic absorbs moisture from the air which in turn creates small water bubbles in the filament. When heated in the extruder nozzle, these bubbles quickly reach boiling point and impact the fluidity of the filament which then impacts the overall printing result. The use of desiccant dehumidifiers to absorb moisture is highly recommended.

Keep material sealed until ready for use

To maintain the product quality, we recommend removing the filament from your printer if not used for more than a few hours and store unused material in the provided resealable bag in a cool dark place

Store in a cool and dry place (15 ˚C -25 ˚C) and away from UV light, enhances the shelf life significantly
