Surge Arrestors
Surge arresters are a type of surge protection device, used to protect machinery and equipment from over-voltage caused by things such as lightning strikes or switching events.
Where are Surge Arresters used?
Surge arresters are used in a wide range of power transmission and distribution systems. These surge protection devices are available in a wide range of sizes and profiles.
How do Surge Arresters work?
Surge arresters allow normal voltage to continue along a path, whilst diverting extra or over voltage into an earth wire. This prevents it from flowing through the electrical device causing over-voltage.
