    Flexible Conduit

A flexible conduit is used for the management and routing of cables and wires. It is a popular method of protecting cables in a wide range of electrical installations. With its resilience to prolonged flexing and vibration flexible conduit is ideal for applications with tight bends and awkward angles.

Here, at RS we have an extensive selection of flexible cable conduits from well-known brands such as Hellermann Tyton, Kopex, Adaptaflex, PMA and our own brand RS PRO.

Our range includes popular sizes including 20mm flexible conduit, 25mm flexible conduit and 32mm flexible conduit. IP Ratings from IP40 right up to liquid-tight IP69K.

What are the different types of Flexible Conduit?

There are two main types of flexible conduit, metal, and plastic. Both are designed to provide the same level of protection as their rigid counterpart however flexible conduit is typically used in applications that require more flexibility in installation.

    Flexible Plastic Conduit

This type of conduit can be made from various types of plastic such as PVC, Nylon or Polyamide. They are the most popular type of conduit as they can be used in a wide range of indoor and outdoor applications. Electricians favour flexible plastic conduit as it is lightweight and easy to install.

    Flexible Metal Conduit

This type of conduit can be made of various kinds of metal such as galvanised steel, stainless steel, or coated steel. They are more durable than plastic conduits and can withstand harsher conditions and environments. However, the metal conduit is slightly more difficult to install as they are harder to bend.
