LM79 series Negative Voltage Regulators, Texas Instruments

The Texas Instrument LM79 family of negative voltage regulators offers fixed output voltages of -5 V, -12 V or -15 V. The output current ratings are 1.5A for the LM79xx, 0.5A for LM79Mxx and 0.1A for LM79L types. These regulators require an external output compensation capacitor for operational stability. The LM79 family features internal short circuit protection and current limiting, and also incorporates thermal overload protection. The low ground pin current allows the output voltage to be easily boosted above the pre-set value by using a resistive divider.

LM79: 1.5A Output current
LM79M: 0.5A Output current
LM79L: 0.1A Output current
Low quiescent current
High ripple rejection
