Unitronic® LiYCY cable

From Lapp, the Unitronic LiYCY series of data cables are DIN colour coded, and ideal for low frequency applications. These data or signal cables are used for computers and electronic control devices, and are screened to minimize electrical interference. The cable also features small dimensions and outer diameter, which makes it suitable for fixed installations where space saving is a concern.

The Unitronic LiYCY cable is flame retardant and suitable for use in dry or damp rooms.

Features and Benefits

• Core insulation with PVC base
• Cores stranded in layers
• DIN colour code
• Shield braid made from tinned wires
• Transparent outer sheath made from special PVC-based mixture
• Flame-retardant in accordance with VDE 0472, part 804, test type B (IEC 332.1)
• Operating temperature with occasional flexing: -5°C to +70°C
• Operating temperature with fixed installation: -40°C to +80°C

Applications

This CY multi-conductor cable is suitable for a variety of applications, such as;

• RS 232
• Process control
• Communications, signal & control
• Signal & broadcast

Accessories

Unitronic LiYCY cables should be used with accessories that mach its capabilities, and as such Lapp supplies a series of low-resistance screen cable glands.

LAPP Data Cable, PVC Sheath, 7.6mm Outer Diameter - UNITRONIC LiYCY Series - 0034607

Keep your system's signals flowing despite heavy electrical interference with this data cable from LAPP. Its tin-plated copper braiding shields data against high EMI levels, dialling down disruption from electrical noise. With its copper conductors, the lead gets information where it's going, every time. Wiring is short work, thanks to the product's colour-coded cores. The cable's 7.6mm outer diameter slips right through low-profile spots, removing the hassle of dealing with awkward areas.

Features & Benefits

• Handles surge voltages up to 1.5kV, minimising the risk of hardware damage from electrical faults
• Flame-resistant PVC jacket pushes through harsh industrial conditions
• Safe to use in temperatures between -40°C and +70°C for reliable performance in extreme environments

Applications

• Glass manufacturing
• Control devices
• Material handling
• Factories

What are stranded wires and why should I use them?

Stranded wires wrap fine metal strands together to form conductor cores, providing plenty of flexibility to connect components in busy cabinets.
