Honeywell Bi-Metallic Thermostat, Opens at +180°C - 2455RC Series - 2455RC-90820389

This high-performing thermostat from Honeywell provides accurate temperature regulation in environments with extreme temperatures up to +260°C. Its SPST (single pole, single throw) snap-action switch is normally closed but opens to cut the electrical supply when the temperature rises above +180°C. It automatically resets at +155°C. The heat-sensitive, bi-metallic disc that actuates the contacts is thermally and electrically isolated from the switch and responds to temperatures via the heat-conducting stainless-steel end cap. Dielectric strength of 2000V AC means it can withstand extremely high levels of electrical current.

Features and Benefits

• Durable ceramic body enables it to withstand high-temperature environments
• Factory calibrated to your specifications
• Quick-connect terminals for ease of installation
• High-capacity 15A contact rating makes it compatible with heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems
• Compact size enables rapid response to temperature changes

Application Information

• Wood stoves and gas fireplaces
• Industrial boilers
• Commercial heating systems

How does the bi-metallic disc work?

This thermostat is actuated by a disc made of two metals, each of which reacts differently to temperature. When heated, one metal expands more quickly than the other, causing the disc to bend and break the circuit.
