This RS PRO terminal strip is a modular, insulated block with 12 contacts organised in two parallel rows. They're used to make wire-to-board and wire-to-wire connections without the need for plugs.

The unit consists of a clamping component and a conducting brass strip that helps connect electrical components. The screw clamps can accommodate a wide range of wire sizes and provide reliable connections. You simply press the wire against the conductor strip in the block using a screwdriver – it's quick to connect and disconnect. The strip is housed in a polypropylene cover, which provides good resistance to chemicals, fatigue and heat.

Terminal strips can be used in any electrical situation where wires need to be joined together. They create a fixed connection that's readily accessible for troubleshooting. Where there are a few wires to connect, they organise connections into a logical arrangement.
