WJ Furse twisted- pair lightning Surge Arrestors - ESP D & TN Series

From WJ Furse, these lightning surge arrestors are designed for use on twisted-pair lines found in process control equipment, modems and communications interfaces. These surge protectors offer full mode protection with very low let through voltage (to BS EN 62305) between all lines. The full mode design allows for the continued operation of protected equipment while also handling partial lightning currents. ESP series surge protectors offer repeated protection in lightning intense environments and are encased within a strong, flame retardant ABS housing.

Features and benefits:

300 mA current rating

Low inline resistance

Colour coded terminals

Effective earthing from substantial earth stud

Integral earthing plate for enhanced connection to earth with a CME kit

Supplied ready for flat mounting on the side or on the base

A built-in foot allows for clip-on mounting for top hat DIN Rails

Easy connection of cable screen to earth with screen terminal

Installation:

These surge protectors should be installed closely to the system's earth start point. They should be connected in series with the data communication or signal line close to the equipment that is being protected, such as the control panel. Alternatively, these surge protectors should be installed where the signal line enters or leaves the building. Surge protectors should be installed within a separate enclosure or in an existing enclosure.
