It has a 9-pin D-sub socket at the module side and nine unterminated connections at the controller end. This means it's ideal for linking an I/O interface to a terminal board. You'll find cables like this used in industrial automation, point-of-sale technology and motor drives.

For hassle-free installation, the unterminated end has colour-coded wires, so it's easy to identify your connections. Ferrules protect the bare strands to prevent fraying and other damage during insertion and removal from the terminal. At the plug end, two UNC 4-40 screws either side of the female socket lock it firmly in place and provide mechanical strain relief to the cable. To minimise disruption from EMI, this robust piece of kit includes a tinned copper braided shield, meaning you get a clean, noise-free signal.
