SKF Seal, 60mm Inside Diameter, 85mm Outside Diameter - 60X85X8 HMSA10 RG

This seal is a rotary shaft oil seal designed to separate rotating and stationary components and to retain lubricants in machinery. It features an elastomeric sealing lip and a rubber outer diameter to provide a contact Interface with the housing while maintaining a non‑contacting auxiliary lip for improved exclusion of contaminants. The design includes a garter spring to maintain effective lip pressure around the shaft in polluted environments.

Features & Benefits

• Permits circumferential speed up to 8.58 m/s for high‑speed shafts
• Withstands operating temperatures from -40°C to 100°C
• Garter spring ensures consistent lip force during rotation
• Auxiliary dust lip increases resistance to external contamination
• Accommodates shaft misalignment for flexible installation

**Applications**

• Suitable for gearbox output shafts requiring oil retention
• Ideal for motor‑driven pumps in industrial automation
• Used with rotating assemblies in electrical drive systems
• Can be used for bearings in mechanical manufacturing equipment

What maximum shaft rotational speed can it tolerate?

It is rated to operate up to 2,760 r/min, matching the permissible surface speed limit.

How does the seal cope with brief thermal overloads?

The material permits short‑duration exposure up to 120°C without permanent alteration of sealing performance.

What housing preparation is required for installation?

The outer diameter is rubberised and metal reinforced, so a closely matched bore at 85mm provides a press‑fit seating surface.

Which sealing material contacts the shaft and what are its benefits?

The lip is MADE from nitrile rubber (NBR), offering compatibility with oil and grease and resistance to common industrial lubricants.
