Scotch-Brite™ Hand Pad 7448+, 158 mm x 224 mm, S UFN
Scotch-Brite™ Ultra Fine Hand Pad 7448+ is designed for conditioning metal surfaces and paint preparation. Unlike fine steel wool, these pads wont shred during use, rust after use, or leave fine metal splinters. Theyre flexible and long lasting.
Use Scotch-Brite™ Ultra Fine Hand Pad 7448+ instead of fine steel wool, to condition metal surfaces and to prepare for painting.
Scotch-Brite Ultra Fine pads are filled with tightly graded silicon carbide abrasive, a very sharp synthetic mineral thats typically used for low-pressure applications such as paint preparation. The tightly graded particles deliver a consistent, uniform abrasive action for the entire lifespan of the pad and the mineral breaks down faster than aluminium oxide for a superior finish.
Theyre designed for ease of use, reaching into tight corners and intricate detailed surfaces, without changing the size of the base material. Use for cleaning, finishing and buffing with no need to adjust, turn over or replace the pad mid-task.
An addition to any workshop toolbox, our versatile hand pads can be used manually, paired with a hand pad block, or run on an in-line sander for working faster on larger areas.
Scotch-Brite abrasives are unique surface conditioning products, comprising of abrasives incorporated into non-woven nylon fibres. Combining abrasives and non-woven material creates an abrasive system that delivers consistent results for the entire lifespan of the pad.
The open-web material runs cool and is load resistant, which keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the nylon fibres.
Features and Benefits
Ultra-fine finishing action outperforms steel wool
Efficient for cleaning, blending, prepping and finishing on metal, wood, plastics and composites
Performs like steel wool grade 00 with no shredding, rusting, or splintering
Cleans metal, composites, and other materials without altering the base material
Flexible pad conforms to irregular surfaces and reaches into corners and tight spaces without compromising performance
Load and heat resistant non-woven web provides consistent finishing over the life of the pad
These abrasive hand pads are suitable for use on a range of materials such as wood, metal, plastics, ceramics, porcelain, glass, rubber or composites. They are used in a variety of industries and for domestic and hobby purposes. They are particularly useful in home decorating for surface preparation before painting, or for the removal of old gloss or matt paint on surfaces such as doors frames or banisters. These general-purpose non-woven hand pads can typically be used as an alternative to typical sandpaper in sanding and polishing applications.
What are non-woven abrasives?
Non-Woven Abrasives have abrasive grains bonded to flexible nylon fibres, which provide a controlled consistent finish. The open web construction provides and maintains a consistent cutting rate.
