    A PT100 sensor is considered the most rugged and common form of a RTD (resistance temperature detector) and have a resistance of 100 ohms (Ω)

    How do platinum resistance thermometers work?

The resistance is measured by when a current is passed through it and the voltage is measured using a suitable voltmeter. The voltage reading is then converted into temperature with the aid of calibration equipment.
