The Sundstrom SR 500 is a battery-powered fan unit that, when combined with a filter and an approved head top, forms part of the Sundstrom fan-assisted respiratory protective device systems. It serves as an effective alternative to filter respirators in all recommended applications, particularly in tasks that are strenuous, performed in hot conditions, or extended in duration. The human interface may include a hood, face shield, half mask, or full-face mask. Filtered air is delivered via a hose to the user interface, generating positive pressure that prevents external pollutants from entering the mask. The SR 500 features a lithium-ion battery with two options: standard (2.25 Ah) and heavy-duty (3.5 Ah). It is approved under EN 12941:1998 + A2:2008 and EN 12942:1998 + A2:2008, and complies with the PPE Directive (EU) 2016/425.
