Looking for a component that can detect the presence or absence of objects without contact? This proximity sensor from Rockwell Automation's Allen Bradley range is designed to do just that. Using inductive sensor technology, this non-contact component is able to detect objects within a 6mm range, preventing damage to the object. Its 60mm compact body is a suitable physical fit for situations where space is tight. It's designed with a wound iron core to detect ferrous metals including aluminium and copper. For this reason, you'll find it commonly used in applications on packaging lines to detect objects such as cans.
