RS PRO Electric Insect Killer Light Unit


These RS PRO electric fly killer units utilise UVA rays, which are the most effective way to attract flying insects, such as flies, moths, mosquitoes, and other flying insects. Our fly killers or bug zappers use no chemicals, have no smell, no sprays and are pollution free, as the insects are electrocuted by the electrically charged metal grids.

Why would you choose these Fly Killer Units?


RS PRO fly killer light units can be used free-standing, wall mounted or suspended from the ceiling with the supplied chain. The fly killer and bug zapper should be fitted with shatterproof UVA tubes, but if shatterproof tubes are not required standard UVA tubes can also be fitted.

Bug zappers are recommended for areas where food is served, prepared, or eaten. It is recommended that the tubes are changed every year, as the UV content of the lamps reduces over time.

    What types of lights, bulbs and lamps are available?

  • Fly killer bulbs are traditionally tube lights as they offer a uniform light across a longer length. They are either straight tubes or U-bend tubes, depending on the device they are compatible with.

  • Each bulb has a specified base which must match your fly killer light fitting. These include G5, G10q G13 and G23 bases.

  • Fly killer bulbs are classified into sizes by their diameter. For example, T5 is 5/8 of an inch and T8 is 8/8 of an inch, so one inch.
