The Through Beam detection, infrared, short cased, cylindrical / barrel shaped photoelectric sensor from RS PRO providing you with a 20 m Emitter and receiver detection distance, using through beam sensor technology, an excellent sensor for installing within small spaces. The short case sensors are available separately as photoelectric emitter and receiver providing flexibility with installations plus are suitable for a wide range of industrial and automation applications.
The photoelectric sensor has a nickel copper alloy, cylindrical shape design plus is IP67 rated (waterproof) making the sensor suitable for use in harsh environments. Flexible and easy to operate, emitter and receiver, infrared light source, LED output indicators, 1 Ms response time, short case housing, short circuit, overload, reverse polarity protection are just a few of the features within the RS PRO Photoelectric sensor.

What is a Through-Beam Photoelectric Sensor
This sensor is made up of a light emitter and a light receiver, the detection distance can be increased by separating the light emitter and receiver. When using the through-beam sensor the emitter and receiver are installed either side of the of the path of objects to be detected. When the object passes through the light beam the light is blocked by the object and the light receiving device acts to output a switch control signal.
