CE-TEK “CEP” GRP Junction Boxes - ATEX, EX ia (“Intrinsically Safe”)

Introducing a new range of ATEX certified junction boxes from CE-TEK. All the boxes in the range incorporate factory fitted DIN Rail mounted, terminal connector blocks and are pre-machined with threaded M20/ M25 cable gland entry apertures (each supplied with EX rated blanking plugs) These Pre-Assembled Junction Boxes are designed to connect and protect wiring that carry electrical currents within locations defined as a “Hazardous Area”.

CE-TEK factory Pre-Assembled Junction Boxes are intended for use by qualified Hazardous Area Electrical Installers and have been developed to address particularly the MRO (Maintenance Repair and Operations) activity of these Contractors/Users by making available “Off the Shelf” and ready to use Junction Boxes in popular sizes and configurations often required to complete urgent, and sometimes “unplanned” installation or emergency repair work on plant and facilities in Hazardous Area locations.

RS are now not only offering EX”e” (Increased Safety”) certified CE-TEK Junction boxes but have added this new EX ia “Intrinsically Safe” range to specifically address the demand for Datacomms / Automation and Control wiring within modern Hazardous Area manufacturing plants and facilities.

Typical Application

CE-TEK Hazardous Area Junctions boxes are specifically designed for use by Industries such as those of the Oil & Gas, Petro-Chem, Milling, Pharmaceutical , Waste Water, and Fuel Distribution sectors, where the need exists to install electrical, data and communication equipment within environments where highly combustible gases, liquids or dust are commonly, or indeed constantly present.

More generally, Junctions Boxes are primarily used in building construction* and are designed to provide protection to wiring circuits and electrical connections for easy access. Boxes are usually made from metal or heavy-duty plastic and in most situations can be used both indoor and outdoor due to their water and impact resistance. * but also, as part of the electrical wiring of plant, machinery, equipment or vehicles intended to be used in Hazardous Areas

Typically wiring applications:

• Initial building / facility electrical installations for Power, Lighting, HVAC, Control etc

• As an integral part of OEM equipment, machinery or plant wiring

• Connecting additional sockets to circuits

• Adding lighting points

• Extending electrical circuits

• Electricity circuit repairs, upgrades and modifications
