LattePanda 2GB/32GB SBC

This is the LattePanda 2G/32G version from DFRobot, with the Intel Atom X5-Z8300 processor. It is a Windows 10 Single-Board Computer (SBC) capable of functioning as a full PC, plus plenty of software and hardware projects.

How to use LattePanda as a PC:
Simply add your keeyboard, mouse and HDMI or DVI-D input monitor. Alternatively, you can install Virtual Network Computing (VNC) software on the LattePanda and drive it remotely from another PC on the network. RS 124-4684 comes pre-installed with full Windows 10 Home Edition too.

What else can it do?
The LattePanda can also function as an embedded controller able to take inputs from sensors and drive motors and relays. For this purpose, a second processor chip is included: an ATmega32U4 which can be programmed as if it were an Arduino Leonardo. Most of the board's inputs and outputs are driven by this Arduino processor.

When heavily loaded running a complex game program on all four cores, the LattePanda may overheat to the point where it has to protect itself by 'throttling back' the processor clock. This becomes obvious when fast moving graphics become slow and jerky. If this happens, then an additional heatsink kit or a fan is available (See above). These can be mounted on the perforated metal shield on the underside of the board. The fan is plugged into the CN2 header.
