Honeywell HSC Series Pressure Sensor, ±0.25% Accuracy, +85°C Maximum Operating Temperature - HSCDANN160MGAA5

This pressure sensor is a piezoresistive board-mounted device designed to measure absolute, gauge or differential pressure in non-corrosive, non-ionic gases and certain non-corrosive liquids for specified ranges. It provides a calibrated, temperature-compensated ratiometric analogue or digital output from a single 3.3V or 5.0V supply, with Rapid update rates suitable for embedded PCB applications and demanding thermal environments.

Features and Benefits:

• ±0.25% accuracy pressure sensor reduces software calibration requirements
• Low-voltage 3.3 to 5V pressure sensor enables 3.3V and 5.0V systems
• 8-pin piezoresistive pressure transducer supports Compact PCB integration
• 0 to 16 kPa piezoresistive sensor option for low-pressure measurement
• High-temperature 85°C pressure sensor tolerates elevated operating temperatures
• ISO 9001 certified pressure sensor conforms to quality management standards

Applications

• Suitable for respiratory machines and ventilators in clinical settings
• Used for HVAC flow and clogged-filter detection systems
• Ideal for gas flow instrumentation and chromatography analysers
• Can be used with battery-powered devices needing low power draw
• Used for pneumatic controls and variable Air volume systems

What output options are available for interfacing with microcontrollers?

It provides a ratiometric analogue output and 14-bit digital outputs compatible with SPI or I2C allowing direct microprocessor connection.

How does the device maintain performance across temperature changes?

The sensor is fully calibrated and temperature compensated for offset, sensitivity and non-linearity using an on-board ASIC with compensated output updates around 1 kHz analogue and 2 kHz digital.

What media can be measured and are liquids supported?

It is intended for non-corrosive, non-ionic gases, liquid-media options exist for pressure ranges above 40 mbar but liquid must be compatible with wetted materials and applied to the primary port only.

What protection and reliability characteristics support long-term use?

The design offers industry-leading stability with high overpressure and burst pressure ratings, low power consumption, and lifecycle testing to millions of pressure cycles.

How should the device be supplied and what are the electrical limits?

It operates from a single supply of either 3.3V or 5.0V and is ratiometric within specified operating voltages, reverse polarity must be avoided as it is not protected.
