FAQs

What is a CEE 7/7 plug?

A CEE 7/7 plug is a type of hybrid E/F plug that can be used in Europe, Russia and Korea. It is also under the same bracket as a Schuko plug, a 2 pin connector. A CEE 7/7 plug bridges the gap between an E and F socket, with the addition of 2 earthing clips either side to fit an F socket and a female contact to accept an earth pin from an E socket.

What is an IEC connector?

IEC connectors have 3 pins, a rated current of 10 A and a maximum temperature rating of 70°C and are commonly featured on power cords, also referred to as kettle leads. IEC connectors conform to IEC-60320 specifications laid down by the IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) to ensure the connectors meet common global design standards. They are used to connect the cord to the relevant socket on an electrical appliance.
