RS PRO H07BN4-F Harmonised Rubber Insulated Mains Cable

From RS PRO a high-quality, durable H07BN4-F flexible mains power cable with rubber insulation and sheathed in a CSP (chlorosulphonated polyethylene) jacket. This power cable has a voltage rating of 450 to 750 V, is heat resistant, flame retardant and has excellent resistance to abrasion, oils, water and weathering making it suitable for use in most industrial applications.

What is Mains Cable?

A mains power cable connects an appliance to a mains electricity supply through the use of a wall socket or an extension lead which will then be plugged into a mains supply.

Cable Construction

This flexible cable consists of cores made up of bare stranded copper conductors or wires. Each individual core is surrounded by colour coded rubber insulation for easy identification of the wires. All the cores are then surrounded by a final layer called a cable jacket or sheath made from CSP (chlorosulphonated polyethylene).

What Does H07BN4-F Mean?

H07BN4-F flexible cable is a type of harmonised cable which means it belongs to the Harmonised Reference System and conforms to the European Harmonisation Standard. This purpose of this standard is to improve standards and quality of cables across Europe to ensure the trade of common standard product.

H07BN4-F is the code for this harmonised flexible cable which breaks down into the following:

• H = Harmonised
• 07 = 450 / 750 voltage rating
• B = EPR (Ethylene-propylene rubber) insulation
• N4 = CSP (Chlorosulphonated Polyethylene) sheath
• F = Flexible copper conductors

Features and Benefits

The construction of this flexible mains power cable and the materials it is made from means it has the following qualities:

• Flexible and durable
• Excellent temperature resistance
• Resistance to impact and abrasion
• UV resistant with high resistance to ageing by sunlight and oxidation
• Resistant to hydrocarbons, oils, greases and fuels
• Excellent fire resistant properties

Where are These Cables Used?

H07BN4-F mains cables with their high-temperature resistance and mechanical durability are ideal for use in most industrial applications. These cables are especially suitable for use in arduous industrial environments such as the heavy-duty electrical connection of equipment between pumps and generators, and for temporary power generation. H07BN4-F cable is also widely used in the following industries:

• Building and Construction
• Renewable Energy
• Water Treatment
• Mines and oil and gas applications
