Festo Pneumatic Cylinder, Die-Cast Aluminium Cover, 3.3J Impact Energy in End Positions - DSBG-160-50-PPVA-N3

Need a lightweight yet powerful way to get pistons to generate linear motion in your setup? Use this pneumatic cylinder from Festo. The die-cast aluminium cover makes it robust without adding unnecessary weight, which is why this unit's the lightest large-diameter cylinder in its class. A wide operating pressure range between 6 and 10 bar means it's suitable for use in heavy-duty applications.

Features & Benefits

• PPV cushioning at both ends prevents system overloads
• Proximity sensor provides accurate information on piston location for safety and efficiency
• Broad operating temperature range between -20°C and +80°C for use in challenging environments

Applications

• Packaging machinery
• Steel industry
• Process automation

What's the difference between single-acting and double-acting pneumatic cylinders?

Single-acting cylinders intake air through one port, while double-acting cylinders have two. This means when a single-acting cylinder is activated, a spring is needed to move the rod back into its starting position. Thanks to its additional port, a double-acting cylinder retracts without needing a spring and produces smooth powered movement in both directions.
