Festo Pneumatic Cartridge Cylinder, 6mm Bore, 5mm Stroke - EGZ-6-5

This compact pneumatic cartridge cylinder from Festo generates efficient linear motion in limited spaces. It's a single-action cylinder featuring a 5mm stroke for fast, short movements that create the necessary force for a range of clamping, positioning and punching motions. The piston rod is built from high-alloy steel for superior strength and durability, and the housing is nickel-plated brass for corrosion resistance, so direct contact with industrial materials such as coolants or lubricating agents won't cause damage. This device has a versatile operating pressure range of 2 bar to 8 bar.

• Free from copper and PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) for reduced environmental impact
• Wide operating temperature range of -20˚C to +80˚C makes it suitable for a variety of industrial settings

Applications

• Automotive manufacturing
• Automated processes
• Bottling processes
• Mechanised agricultural equipment

Do single-action pneumatic cylinders offer any advantages?

Single-action cylinders use just one port to allow compressed air to enter. This air pressure forces the piston into action, generating the movement and force. Single-action cylinders are often more compact than double-action models, allowing for installation in tight spaces. They also tend to have simpler designs that are easy to mount and install.
