Festo Parallel Pneumatic Gripper, 8 Bar, 2 Fingers - DHPS-20-A

This parallel gripper from Festo includes both single-acting and double-acting fingers for a strong, reliable hold on a wide range of items. It uses a heavy-duty T-slot guide for a precise grasp of the workpiece. An oval piston then delivers a high grip force, which, coupled with a compression spring for backup gripping force, enables maximum repetition accuracy. Mounting the component to interior or exterior actuator units is simple, making it a versatile choice.

• Maximum operating pressure of 8 bar for effective operation in demanding industrial environments

• Stroke size of 6.5mm per gripper jaw offers efficient operation

• Total force at 6 bar on opening equal to 320N and on closing 290N for powerful and consistent gripping strength

Applications

• Biotech and pharmaceutical industries

• Robotics and automated processing

• Water technology

What's the difference between internal and external gripping?

The workpiece's geometry and the process that's being performed determine how a workpiece is gripped. An external grip describes a piece held by the unit's closing force on the external surface of the workpiece. If a process requires access to the workpiece's external surface, and the piece's geometry allows, it can be gripped from an internal position using the gripper's opening force.
