Allen Bradley Micro830 PLC – CPU

For a smart control system that delivers optimal customisation, reliability, and security look no further than the Micro830 Programmable Logic Controller by Allen Bradley.

These cost-effective controllers are specially designed for stand-alone machine control applications which require flexible communications and I/O capabilities. They can support up to 88 Input/Output points with high performance I/O, interrupts, and Pulse Train Output motion (PTO). These programmable controllers allow easy incorporation of up to 5 plug-in modules, which provide greater personalisation and increased functionality without adding to the product footprint. They offer simplified communication via the serial port and removable terminal blocks on most models to reduce wiring time.

For ease-of-installation and maintenance Micro800 system control devices share common software and accessories. These smart devices by Allen Bradley ensure that you can reduce downtime, decrease operational costs, and maximise productivity with a fully customised control solution.

Features and Benefits:

• Offers 10-point, 16-point, 24-point, and 48-point controllers to suit your requirements
• Supports as many as five Micro800™ plug-in Modules for greater personalisation
• Has built-in motion capabilities by supporting as many as three axes with Pulse Train Outputs (PTO)
• Provides fast, reliable embedded communications via USB programming port and non-isolated serial port (for RS-232 and RS-485 communications)
• Modbus RTU protocol (serial port)
• Supports microSD™ card for program transfer, datalog, and recipe management through plug-in module
• Up to six High-Speed Counter inputs (HSC) - 100KHz HSC included on 24V DC models

Software:

The Micro830 PLC’s are easy to program and use Connected Components Workbench programming software, which is free to download. This software provides controller programming, device configuration and data sharing with the HMI editor for PanelView Component operator products. The software also supports three standard IEC programming languages: ladder diagram, function block diagram and structured text. Password protection is supported for all Micro800 programmable controllers, ensuring a higher level of security.

2080-LC30-24QWB:

The Micro830 2080-LC30-24QWB PLC has 24 digital input/outputs: 14 24Vdc/Vac inputs, 10 relay outputs. It has embedded 24V DC Power Supply and features 3 base plug-in slots. It has an operating temperature range of -20°C to 65°C and supports a maximum of four 2-wire High Speed Counters (HSC).

What is a PLC and how does it work?

Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) are complex computers which automate control processes by using programs to communicate electronic signals to machines and devices. In simplified terms, they are usually comprised of three components: A CPU (Central Processing Unit), which is the brain or processor of the system, Inputs, and Outputs. An input module detects signals from things like switches, sensors, and buttons. This is processed by the CPU, which leads to an output relaying the CPU’s instructions to a machine or device. PLC system functions can be expanded by adding extra I/O modules. PLC systems are widely used in modern industrial automation for controlling machinery, in industries such as packaging, food and beverage production, pharmaceutical, and printing. Allen Bradley offer excellent control capabilities with their flexible SLC/PLC systems to give you optimal power and performance.
