SLC500 Modular PLC CPU’s

The Allen-Bradley SLC 500 is a small chassis-based family of programmable controllers, discrete, analogue, and speciality I/O, and peripheral devices. The SLC 500 family delivers power and flexibility with a wide range of communication configurations, features, and memory options. The RSLogix 500 ladder logic programming package provides flexible editors, point-and-click I/O configuration, and a powerful database editor, as well as diagnostic and troubleshooting tools to help you save project development time and maximize productivity.

With up to 64 K of configurable data/program memory available and over 60 types of I/O modules, as well as a choice of networking options, the SLC system provides a powerful solution for stand-alone or distributed industrial control.

Features and Benefits of SLC500 series:

• Powerful, yet affordable – SLC 500 programmable controllers provide excellent value with extensive capabilities to address a broad range of applications including material handling, HVAC control, high-speed assembly operations, small process control, simple motion control, and SCADA.
• Modularity – Modular processes, power supplies, I/O, memory options, and communication interfaces allow for a configurable and expandable system. You can configure your system for the number of I/O, the amount of memory, and the communication networks needed. Later, you can expand the system by adding I/O, memory, or communication interfaces.
• Advanced instruction set – Includes indirect addressing, high-level math
capability, and computer instruction. Communication network versatility - Choose from onboard Ethernet, DH+, or DH-485, as well as options for
ControlNet, DeviceNet, or Remote I/O communications.
• Windows programming software – RSLogix 500 programming software
maximizes productivity by simplifying program development and troubleshooting
• Run, program and test modes
• Password protection
• Built-in RS-232/422/423 communication port
• LED status and battery low indicators
• Internal registers for CPU status, minor faults and diagnostic information
CPU memory assigned to timers, counters and storage as required by the user
• Optional EEPROM memory back-up
• Battery supplied
• Operating temperature range 0 to 60°C
• 5 to 95% RH (non-condensing)
• Dimensions: H 145 x W 35 x D 142mm

Additional features:

• 5/02 CPU:
- Supports high-speed data module
- Can handle 32-bit signed maths functions
- Indexed addressing

• 5/03, 5/04 and 5/05 CPU Additional Features to 5/02:
- Additional communication ports
- DF1 half duplex master protocol provides control of SCADA networks over modems
- Trigonometric and exponential maths functions
- Real-time clock and key switch

System Configuration Instruction:

Select I/O modules required for application and rack(s) to accommodate them. The CPU takes the first slot. Select processor required considering instruction, memory size and communications options. Calculate total backplane current requirement for CPU and I/O modules for both 5Vdc and 24Vdc and select an appropriate power supply.

Allen Bradley PLC CPU, 1.75W Power Loss, 0.09A Current Rating - SLC 500 Series - 1747-L511

Save yourself the stress of manual control with this CPU from Rockwell Automation's Allen Bradley range. It supports automated operation by producing the signals the controller needs to assign tasks and responses to parts of your equipment. Thanks to its modular design, you can fine-tune this processing unit's I/O count to suit your design needs, or integrate it with other I/O modules when you want to expand your setup. CPUs like this one are commonly used in factory automation applications.

Features & Benefits

• Broad operating temperature range between 0°C and +60°C for use in demanding conditions
• Stops burning in 10 seconds or less in the event of a fire, so it's a safe choice for volatile settings
• Built-in LED indicators make monitoring and troubleshooting easy
• Memory capacity of 1,000 words for recipe storage
