3M 2500 Series 2.54 x 2.54mm Low Profile Four-Wall Shrouded PCB Headers

From 3M, the 2500 series 2.54 x 2.54mm four-wall shrouded PCB headers with a low profile, space saving design are available in SMT, through hole, straight and right angle PCB mounting configurations.

These 2.54mm 2500 series PCB headers have centre slot polarization to facilitate accurate insertion and dual slot polarization making the connector compatible with other competitive polarization designs. Versions of these 2500 series PCB header connectors are available with a high temperature (260°C) black PCT housing (part numbers pre-fixed with 'N') which are suitable for 'no lead' soldering operations, through hole PCB headers with high temperature housings are suitable for 'paste in hole' reflow soldering techniques.

• Part numbers (N)25xx-xx02 are for use with a 1.57mm PCB thickness
• Part numbers (N)25xx-xx03 are for use with a 2.39 to 3.18mm PCB thickness
• A latch is available for use with these headers see stock number 192-7782
• Socket retainer clips are also available for these shrouded PCB headers, see stock number 323-8220 typically

Features and Benefits

• Low profile, space saving design
• Center slot polarization prevents mis-insertions and reduces insertion time
• Dual slot polarization means broader compatibility with competitive polarization designs (not 6, 8 or 10 pos.)
• Optional retainer clip for locking sockets in place and increasing connection reliability in vibration prone environments

Applications

PCB Headers are used to connect two PCB boards together. This makes it highly efficient by not having to solder the board together or wire them and will save you time. It also makes it very easy to remove the second board if anything fails.

Why choose 3M?

3M are a reliable name in computing and electronic connection. Combined with RS Components excellent customer service, 3M provides a range of specialist connectivity solutions for a variety of industries and applications.

3M PCB Header, Through-Hole Mounting, Shrouded - 2500 Series - N2550-5002RB

Save time and space when building electrical circuits with this 50-way PCB header from 3M. Soldering it to your PCB makes connecting and disconnecting your components a doddle. The right-angled orientation makes it ideal for installations where space is on the tight side. Superior signal transmission is assured thanks to the corrosion-resistant, gold-plated copper contacts. This header is shrouded, which makes it reliably robust and stops the pins from bending.

Features & Benefits

• Exposed solder tails make cleaning hassle-free
• Centre slot polarisation guards against damage caused by incorrect insertion
• Through-hole mounting ensures a robust connection with the board

Applications

• Consumer electronics
• Lighting rigs
• Industrial controls

Why use a PCB header?

PCB headers let you make multiple connections to your PCB through a single block, saving considerable time compared with soldering individual components. They also make disconnection easy if you need to adjust your assembly.
