The housings of these PicoBlade headers have locking windows which engage with two latching ramps in the crimp housing to produce a friction locking mechanism. This friction lock provides a secure mating connection and prevents accidental unmating caused by mishandling or vibration. The SMT PicoBlade headers feature solder tabs that provide a secure retention on the PCB and act as a strain relief for the SMT solder tails.
